A Hope Filled New Year

Happy New Year!

I hope that you had an awesome Christmas that included loads of memories with family and friends.  Holiday Retail left me with just enough time to finish my shopping and wrapping before my mom arrived on the 21st.  That was followed up with half of my people descending into a nasty week long cold.  There has been little time for blogging or even sending out holiday cards and at a certain point… you just have to let it all go.

On the plus side, I do have a jump on my Christmas cards for next year.  A win that I’ll gladly take.

As for New Years, I’ve never been a big “gotta celebrate the change in calendar” kind of girl.  However, 2013 has been an emotional roller coaster for us and I’ve been eagerly looking forward to marking a new year.

I’m fully aware that life doesn’t take a look at the calendar and decide to hold off on whatever mayhem might be coming just because we all become another year older.  At the same time, I’m also fully aware of how hard this time of year can be for some and how great the desire for new starts can be.

So I am hopeful for 2014.

Hopeful that there will be less tears and more joy…

…less pain and more adventure…

…less upheaval and more peace.

As for this blog, I’m already excited for what the future holds here too.  I’m looking forward to investing more time which will hopefully mean more consistent, quality content that will be interesting for everyone.

Thank you for walking along side me in this journey.  I am so very blessed by every comment and email that I receive.

Whatever life has in store, I wish you a 2014 that is filled with hope and beauty and a home filled with stories that are meaningful.

Cheers!

I couldn’t agree more! Our only saving grace was with everyone getting sick, we were forced to cancel the majority of what we had planned to do and just hang out. An unexpected gift, that is making me re-evaluate how to reduce the frenzy next year.

Hope you have a lovely new year! We too were stuck by a cold during the holiday break. Guess when new germs have a breeding ground it equals a recipe for a disaster.

Ugh! Getting sick (especially at the holidays) is so lame. However, we tried to just embrace the slower pace after a crazy year. Hope you guys are all on the mend. 🙂
