Paper Valentine

Valentine Banner |

It’s an annual tradition in our home to make paper snowflakes during the holidays.  It’s a relaxing afternoon mostly spent between father and daughter listening to Christmas music and creating fun designs with paper and scissors.  My part in this event comes at the end with hanging the paper decor all around the windows of our home for a little added winter flare.

After Christmas, taking the paper snowflakes down is always a little sad.  They seem to capture a special moment that can’t be easily tossed away.  Over time, I’ve tried to come up with creative ways to pass the love along and this year I’m doing just that with these snowflake valentines.

Alex, I thought of you a ton while I was making these. The envelopes, the twine, the red and white graphic combo… you might be rubbing off on me. 🙂

    • Danielle says:

Ha!! Kelly, I bet you would do better at these than you might imagine. However, you may have noticed that I didn’t mention that I make paper snowflakes. There is something about making them and pumpkin carving that quickly frustrates me.

The mastery has come with years of practice. And I’m so mad at myself… someone this year cut out a string of snowmen and I wanted to include a photo for this post. Somehow, I’ve managed to misplace it… grrr!

Thanks! I am proud to report that all of my Christmas Spirit has now been sufficiently stashed away until next November. Bring on the Valentine’s Day lovefest!
