Happy November! Halloween is officially behind us and that means that the holidays have officially arrived. All of the hustle of the season is going to continue to grow until we reach 2016. But that doesn’t mean that it has to be crazy and chaotic. I’ve got another Holiday Gift Guide ready for your shopping adventure.
I’ve gone back and forth on if this is a gift guide for the animal lover, pet lover or dog lover on your list. Here in Portland, all creatures are highly regarded to the point of being highlighted on Portlandia. (It’s funny because it’s true.)
I ultimately focused on traditional pets – dogs and cats – for this years gift guide. Here are my recommendations for the pet owner or the fur ball you want to spoil.
My mother-in-law makes sure that all the animals in the family have fun treats to enjoy on Christmas morning. I love that she thinks of them in this special way and I think these would be great to have under the tree.
When I worked in holiday retail a few years ago, these things flew off the shelves. I’m not entirely sure why, but it’s filled with cat nip and cat and cat lovers alike gotta have ’em.
For the cat owner with a more modern flare, this pet dish set is too adorable!
Pets need toys to enjoy during the holidays too.
Every time I see this dog toy I think of Mean Girls. Anyone else? Actually, I was thinking of Clueless which led to a 20 minute search on where the phrase “That’s so Fetch” came from.
We always get our pups a new rope for Christmas and a few years ago, my boys actually found my present stash and pulled their rope out to play with while I was away! Seriously… dogs have no patience for waiting until Santa arrives.
If we had a cat, I’m pretty sure we would need a tepee for our furry friend to call their own.
Z-Gallerie has a menagerie of animals and we picked up their French Bulldog Bank when we were redecorating our daughters room. Now they have another pooch that is perfect for this Boxer loving family.
My husband and daughter thought this was the funniest book for the cat owner and I’m happy to report they have a whole line of Pusheen products to be enjoyed.
Becky Best is the fantastic artist behind this site and I had the privilege to meet her last month. I can tell you first hand that her monthly muse, Peggy Sue, captures perfectly this sweet dogs spirit. Becky can also do babies and children with their pets.
If you’re thinking about putting together a theme basket for the Pet Lover and need something to wrap it all up in, I’ve got two suggestions:
Words to live by.
I love the classic look of this bucket that can be used to store toys or dog treats.
Who’s ready to officially kick-off the holiday season? Any pet lovers on your shopping list? Do you get gifts for your pets this time of year?
