At this time of year when I am wrapping things up (both literally and figuratively) someone in our home will inevitably declare that they need a last minute Christmas gift for someone. And after some grumpy trips to the mall, I’ve learned to start picking-up a few “just in case” gifts to have on hand for such an occasion. These are typically inexpensive items that appeal to a variety of friends.
This year, my daughter needed holiday gifts for her ministry team and knowing how many girls were in the group made my wallet cringe a little. However, we were able to put together these cute mini spa gifts without breaking the bank.
One of my favorite things about this season is that you can score some killer deals. We picked up these large tubes of Bath & Body Works lotion for $4 each and were able to put together all of the gifts for what it would’ve cost for just one.
And don’t hate me for saying this, but I also grabbed a couple of these Made About You tubes which will make sweet teacher or co-worker gifts for Valentine’s Day.
In my pre-blogging days I was a major coupon shopper and I still really value stretching our dollar to the fullest. It is one of my goals for 2016 to share with you more thrifty ways to craft and decorate in your home. I will be providing more real time deals through social media so be sure to follow Storypiece on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Speaking of sharing… last week, once again there were some outstanding ideas posted to the Celebrate Your Story! Link Party. And as usual, I had too many tabs open trying to decide my favorite. Here are the highlights, but to see all the creative submissions, click HERE.

Sandra’s site is quickly becoming my new favorite! For someone who is a train wreck in the kitchen (me!), her recipes are very doable and look delicious.
