Spring in Full Swing!

With the arrival of May, I’m struck by how quickly the summer is going to be here. Already our schools are making announcements about end of year activities.  And although I can’t even express how much I LOVE when the kids are home for the summer (sleeping in, no homework, grilling and campfires with my favorite people, what’s not to love?!) I’m not ready to be facing the reality of life with a Junior in High School and my youngest turning 13.  I have the greatest job in the world… being mom to two of the very coolest kids on the planet and I’m not ready to race toward the finish line of that season yet.  Yay for mixed metaphors!

So without further sentiment, I give you my Instagram Photo-a-day for April 2012.

April 2012 | Storypiece.net

It has been an eventful month filled with lots of fun and adventure.  I was able to capture almost all of the challenges for the month except gratitude.  (Okay, I lied… here comes more sentiment.)  There is just so much to be thankful for and I think every photo in this collage represents something or someone that I’m immensely grateful for.

The one thing that I was not able to capture in the collage and which I’m ginormously grateful for are the amazing friends that I am starting to make in the blogging community. There are some lovely and generous people that I am getting the privilege to hang out with and you should get to know them too.

When you have a free minute check out:

A Goode House:  Tyson and I often talk about moving into a mid-century ranch and Stacey and her husband are living that dream.  They are currently preserving the most amazing home and honoring the vision of the original owner and architect, Rex Goode, in their renovation.  Such an awesome story!  Plus Stacey’s married to and partner in DIY is an artist and musician; I can totally relate.

Approaching Joy:  Okay, seriously… how can you not want to get to know a gal with such a cute blog name?!  Paige is as adorable as you can imagine and shares her life as she lives it; genuinely and joyously.  Plus she just got engaged… wahoo!  I have a feeling her blog is about to get some new exciting content.

The Stimson Chronicles: Cameron is one of my Instagram friends that I simply adore.  Her blog chronicles her adventures with two little ones and that sweet season of life.  She is wonderfully encouraging and has the cutest photos!

Also I’ll be linking up with Shelley at The House of Smiths.  If you are on Instagram or play along with Fat Mum Slim, please let me know in the comments below.  And you can always find me @storypiece.

Happy May!

I have A LOT to learn about Photoshop! For now I use an iPhone app called “TurboCollage” which has been tons of fun to play with. 🙂

I love this photo-a-day idea. Time passes so quickly and this type of collage makes you remember and really appreciate every moment, big and small. Great pictures.
Thank you for the “shout out”, Danielle. I was so surprise and pleased that you mentioned us. It was almost my hope to meet other bloggers and share ideas, inspiration, and to encourage each other on our journeys. I’m so glad I found you and your lovely blog.

P.S. I’m dying for an iPhone. I’m always the last to have the cool stuff. (sigh) I love the Instagram photos!

Too funny! I’m so blessed by the same hope… meeting others and being a part of that creative discussion. I’ve given up on my typing skills a while ago. Hope you all have a lovely weekend at the Goode House!

Life is so busy… I love being challenged to take a photo-a-day and then reflect on them each month. It definitely allows me to appreciate all the moments. Can’t wait for you to get an iPhone… you will love it!

    Hi Danielle,
Your photos are wonderful! And I love your writing (had to laugh at your “mixed metaphors”!) I love doing the photo challenge with Fat Mum Slim – it’s so fun. And I’m also on Instagram and your newest follower there. 🙂
