April 1st is just a few days a way and I’ve got an easy trick to play on your kiddos if you are into that sort of thing. I’m actually not a big prankster, but my kids would get so excited for the first of April to arrive every year, that this mama had to learn to make some mischief.
This little joke is quick and easy to put together, but will completely catch your young ones off guard. It requires a few items, a bit of prep, and you’ll be ready to spring it on them when they get home from school.
Purchase your child’s favorite sports drink and then be sure to grab a box of jell-o in the same color.
When my kids were small, sports drinks were always a special treat. To pull off this prank, I would do my shopping the day before and casually let everyone know that they could have their favorite drink after school the next day.
April 1st is on Friday this year. What a great way to end the week… with an especially fun after school snack… am I right?
On March 31st after everyone is tucked away in bed for the evening, make up the jell-o according to the package directions and pour into clear drinking glasses.
Add a straw and let sit overnight in the back of the refrigerator out of sight.
Before your kids get home from school prepare their afternoon snack and have it waiting for them when they arrive.
They will be completely unsuspecting when they sit down to take a long drink and nothing comes out of the straw.
After the astonishment and giggles subside, you will have happy campers that get to enjoy jell-o AND their favorite drink on April Fools’ Day.
Are you celebrating this silly day? Do you have people in your home that like to fool others? What’s your favorite prank to pull on April 1st?
