Recently I told my husband that I think I’d like to make it a life goal to visit the top donut shop in each of the 50 states. Although he enjoys a good donut, he told me I could count on him to go with me to maybe 3 of them.
The guy is totally going to miss out!
Luckily, I have girlfriends that share my love for this deep fried treat. I immediately sent a text to one of them to hit up a new shop in town with me in honor of this being donut week on Storypiece. Of course, she was in!
These are the kind of sacrifices I make to be a blogger.
Pip’s Original Doughnuts in Portland makes mini donuts to order. There is generally a line out the door and a wait for your treats, but they are SO worth it. The small size (genius!) allows you to taste a variety of what they have to offer without sugar overload. Their Dirty Wu is a must try, but I have to say the one I was least excited about, the Raw Honey with Sea Salt, was my hands down favorite. If you are in the pacific northwest, Pip’s is a delicious stop to make.
Our girls outing for donuts then led us to a little shopping at a local rebuild center. Portland has an abundance of refurbished buildings and the salvaged pieces often make their way to stores like this. You never know what treasure you are going to come across. Inspired by some of last week’s Celebrate Your Story! Link Party offerings, that include repurposed rustic finds, I can’t wait to go back.
LZ has a great eye for mixing rustic and modern elements together. She then incorporates fresh greens for Spring. Her home is fresh and beautiful for the season!
Christine has some great ideas for Easter that include a live bunny (plus a sneaky impostor) and easily transition to Spring decorating. If you are looking for some new ideas for your outdoor decor, she has some gorgeous suggestions.
You all know of my love for vintage signs and so I was instantly smitten with this design that Debra created. She so cleverly took a finished piece (the Fresh) and made it her own.
Now it’s your turn… What are you repurposing, reusing or restyling? Share your ideas in the link party so that we can celebrate with you.
