Back before I ever had a blog, I was a crafter. Being creative speaks to my soul and even after I’m no longer taking up this little space on the internet, I will continue to be a maker.

One of my all time favorite crafts are these decorative Mod Podge clothespins. These are perfect for helping keep your kitchen organized and running smoothly.

I gave these clips out as Christmas goodies to some of my girlfriends over a decade ago and not only are they easy to make, I can personally testify that they hold up very well in a busy household.

I actually first created these back in the day before Washi tape became a thing. I’ve tried making these decorative clips with Washi tape and I find the tape to be a bit sheer for this craft. You get more solid coverage with Mod Podge and scrapbook paper and it requires only a bit more effort.¬†Here’s what you’ll need:

Cut Paper to Fit Clothespin

Choose your favorite color coordinating scrapbook paper pack and cut up strips of paper to fit the size of your wood clothespins. The coordinating paper allows each clothespin to be a little different while still creating a complimentary set.

Brush Mod Podge onto Clothespin

I keep a special brush just for Mod Podge in my craft kit that is great for quick projects like this.

Add Cut Scrapbook Paper

Center your decorative paper onto the clothespin taking care to press out any air bubbles that may form under the paper.

Apply a Mod Podge Top Coat

Seal the clothespin by applying a top coat of matte Mod Podge over paper and allow everything to thoroughly dry.

Finish Clothespin Craft

Add paper to both sides of the clothes pin for a cute kitchen clip or glue a magnet to one side and hang to corral papers, photos, and kid artwork on the refrigerator.

Although this project is so quick and simple, it has been a huge life saver in our kitchen. I particularly love that you can easily create a batch in whatever color or pattern fits your decor.
