Last spring while shopping for die cuts to make graduation cupcake toppers, I came across this super cute Hipster Pack by Spellbinders. At the time I wasn’t sure what I would create with it, but I knew I NEEDED to have it since we live in the Pacific Northwest… aka the mecca for all things hipster.
The die cut pack quickly found its way into my shopping cart.

How to Make Thank You Gift Card Holder
Cut Paper into Pieces
Cut your 12″x12″ paper that you’ve selected for the card holder into 3″x12″ strips. You should be able to get 4 card holders from one sheet of cardstock.
Also cut a 3”x3” square in black and a 2.75”x2.75” square in white.
Mark Card Holder Folds
Measure along the long side of your card holder and place a mark at 3.5” and 8.5”. These will be your fold lines.
Before folding, cut a slit into one end for the gift card.
You’ll want to cut this slit about 1” down from the edge and leaving .25“ on either side, make the slit 2.5” across. You can use an X-acto or a paper trimmer to do this step.
Using your Spellbinder cutting machine, cut out all of the pieces you will need for your coffee cup. You’ll want one coffee cup cut in white, one in your print paper, and a coffee sleeve cut in white.
You can use any color print paper for the coffee cup, but when I came across this red paper, it reminded me of the special red cups that come out during the holidays and I just couldn’t resist it for this project.
Assemble Card Holder
Fold card holder and add adhesive to the flap that you cut the slit into earlier.
You can use a glue stick, but I prefer to use double-sided tape as it allows me more control.
IMPORTANT – only add adhesive to the edges of this flap. You want to be able to slide the gift card in, once the paper is glued together.
On the opposite flap add the 3”x3” black square to the edge.
Then cover that with the smaller white square.
To assemble your coffee cup, cut the white lid off of your white die cut cup and glue it over the red lid. Add your coffee sleeve.
Add stamped lettering for “Thanks A Latte” or any other message that may be appropriate for the situation.
Now you’re prepared for any last minute gift need that might occur. Cheers!
