This time of year often revolves around yummy treats in our household. The baked goods, the comfort food… don’t get me wrong, I love me some tasty eats, but it can be a little taxing on the waistline.
I imagine we’re not alone. And because of this, I’m often on the hunt for non-food ways to mark the occasion with neighbors or friends… a little something to let my favorite people know how fantastic I think they are without worrying about them blowing their diet.
Recently Udderly Smooth sent me a sample of their hand cream to try and it became my inspiration for this year’s non-food Halloween treat.

How to Make a Cute Halloween Gift
Cut Mummy Wrap
Cut a full sheet of white felt into 1″ to 2″ long strips. Mummies are “rustic” so these strips don’t have to be even or exact.
Adhere and Wrap
Begin at the bottom and adhere one end of the white felt to the hand cream bottle. Continue wrapping it around the bottle as you move upward. The felt layers should overlap each other a bit. Once you get to the end of the felt, secure it to the bottle with adhesive and then repeat with another strip of felt until you’ve covered the entire bottle and get the mummy look that you want.
Add Googly Eyes
To give this mummy some charm, add googly eyes near the top. These oversized eyes remind me of Veggie Tales.
Finish with Washi Tape
Complete the mummy by covering the hand cream cap with decorative Washi tape. Select tape that is the same width as the cap edge and wrap one time around the cap.
That’s it… you are ready to make someone’s day with this creepy little dude. It’s kinda frightening how quick and easy this craft is. Seriously, you can scare up a bunch of these cute Halloween gifts for all of your co-workers or friends in no time at all. Ha!
Okay, okay… you are unBOOlievably cool for hanging out with me here, especially when I’m so corny. 🙂
Wishing you a safe and fun Halloween. Happy Haunting!
