Family Style Living Bling

Winning stuff is pretty much a day maker in my book.  We have friends that literally win just about every contest they enter.  They insist it’s because they enter them all the time so the odds are in their favor.  I think some people just have amazing luck like that.  I don’t tend to be one of those people, but our friends are so sweet, I find myself truly thrilled whenever they win something new.

All that to say, you can imagine my astonishment when this popped up in my email last week.

Family Style Living Giveaway Winner | Storypiece

Winning a giveaway is a day maker for sure!

And even though they had no idea I was going to do this, I’m just too excited to not share about the ladies that held the giveaway as well as the actual item I won.

Family Style Living is hosted by Pam and Lindsey.  They are a mother/daughter team who live in different states and started a blog as a way to stay connected.  How cool is that?! As someone who is particularly close to her mom, I find this to be such a neat way to share life across the miles.

Pam & Lindsey | Family Style Living

I’ve mentioned on this blog that I’ve done a little quilting, but I’m not a “true quilter”.  That’s because of people like Pam.  Let me just show you Pam’s latest creation:

Fox Quilt by Family Style Living

Pam takes quilting to an art form.  The detail and planning in this quilt is incredible.  That stitching is just… wow!

I don’t think I’ll ever have the vision or patience for this level of quilting, but I serously admire those that do.  You can read more about the process that went into Pam’s foxy creation here.

So about that giveaway I won….

Pam is also a jewelry designer and has her own Etsy store which inspired FSL’s giveaway. And I am now the proud owner of one of her fun pieces.

The ornate heart is something I would buy for myself and the color is perfect as we head into summer.

So let me further promote these gals by saying if you are still needing to pick-up a Mothers Day gift (or if you’re a mom and want to send a suggestion to some of the people still needing to shop for you) please check out PeeGee Jewelry.  They have a wide variety of pieces that are truly lovely and reasonably priced.

Have you ever won a blog giveaway or contest? Have you finished shopping for your favorite mom?  Are you leaving hints for family members that still need to finish their shopping?

As a side note, it’s really fun receiving something in the mail from a blog you follow.  I’m hoping you can experience that by offering my own giveaway soon!

My hubby’s brother-in-law wins radio contests all the time – they were just in NYC for some trip they won over the radio. He enters like 20 a day, so I guess it makes sense that he ALWAYS wins. I need a hobby that results in getting something for free!! That being said, I guess I need to enter blog contests. I always talk myself out of it when I see that I’m competing with hundreds of other people. 🙂

I talk myself out of entering too… which seriously, how are you suppose to win then? And our friends enter like 20 a day too. I enter something maybe once a month which feels like all the time, but are definitely not the same odds as if you are entering 600 times a month. 🙂 Maybe I need to rethink my approach to contests.

Wow Danielle…how nice of you. My stats were jumping up in my Etsy shop and I wondered why, but was thrilled. Thanks a million from the bottom of our blogger hearts.I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Well, thank you for the lovely bracelet! It was a treat to get it in the mail and have that connection with you and your blog. I adore both you and Lindsey. Cheers!

I know, right?! It’s truly stunning. She shared it’s evolution over a series of posts and I would’ve never guessed the final outcome from the initial post. So cool!

Congrats on winning the giveaway! That bracelet is going to
be a fun accessory to add to a springy outfit. I’ve won three
different giveaways since joining blogland last September, and each
has been such a wonderful surprise and came just when I needed it.
You’re so kind to give a shout-out post to the ladies who gifted
you with your prize. You’re really a class act, Danielle.

Nice! It definitely puts a little extra spring in your step, doesn’t it? And congrats again on the Apartment Therapy feature. It was so fun to see your gorgeous space on there. It’s well deserved!

Thanks! I can’t imagine ever doing anything that detailed and having it come out so beautiful. Pam is gifted for sure.

Hi Danielle! I do have some health issues which I will post soon. But last weekend was so scary for me and my family. I was admitted in the hospital due to chest and back pains. ECG and laboratory tests were suggestive of heart attack. For 3.5 days, I was given IV and oral meds for heart attack until heart MRI revealed heart inflammation due to a virus. Was discharged last Tuesday afternoon. Happy Mother’s day and may God continue to care and bless your family

    • admin says:

Oh my goodness! I am so thankful that your doctors were able to figure out what was going on and treat you quickly. It sounds like things have been scary for you and your family. Please take care of yourself… lots of rest and time spent with your son. I’m praying for a quick recovery and beautiful Mother’s Day.

I never win anything either. Unless you count all the many irresistible offers in my junk email…

That bracelet is too cute, and I love the idea of a co-written blog! Especially with my mom… but I’d really take any help I could get.
    Congrats on your win!!
